BROUGHT TO YOU BY:
Message from Barb Eager, Executive Director
With heavy hearts, and after considerable contemplation, reflection, and conversations with the many friends and supporters of the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival (SCBWF) – from sponsors to exhibitors, to speakers, to leaders, and most especially our attendees, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 24th Annual SCBWF which was to be held in January 2021.
For us as an organization, we feel that currently it is the socially responsible thing to do considering our demographic, and our inability to get a firm commitment on a location in a timely manner. We are going to take this year off to secure a new location here on the Space Coast that will enable us to continue offering the multitude of events we do; at the level of quality and content we do. We are planning on rebranding and restructuring to be back bigger and better than ever, January 26th – January 30th, 2022. In the meantime, we are looking at a myriad of options to stay out there and involved whether it be a local community event, virtual or webinars, etc. I am astounded at the ways everyone is getting so creative and hope we can emulate.
On behalf of the staff and the Brevard Nature Alliance Board of Directors, we wish you all the best as we work our way through this very unprecedented time in our lives.
Discover why Florida’s Space Coast is your launch pad to incredible nature-based experiences. The Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival features world class photographers, field trips, workshops and presentations. Florida is rich in native populations of wildlife and birds, but it is also on a busy route for migrating birds stopping over for the winter. Florida’s Space Coast – home to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Canaveral National Seashore, and Kennedy Space Center, is one of the best birding locations in the United States because it is situated at the convergence of two zones — temperate and tropical — creating a natural diversity of unique habitats that attract varied bird species.
For a crash course on Florida’s wildlife, this Festival is ideal for all ages, from beginners to veterans.
Thank you to our generous sponsors who help make our festival possible. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, check out our sponsorship guide!
